Our Story
Tojisp was created to be a platform where people could easily share and remember the testimonies of what Jesus has done in their lives.
Testimonies are so significant in the kingdom of God and in my opinion are not given enough attention in the church. Let me demonstrate the power of sharing a testimony with a fictitious example. I'll also attempt to back up what I write with some scripture references.
Let's say that there's a family that's struggling financially. The husband just lost his job and they can't afford their house payment this month and have no idea where to turn. They pray daily for a miracle to happen in their finances. Then out of nowhere God miraculously provides for them. To their surprise, they find they have a check in their mail box from an anonymous source who gifts them with enough money to pay the next 5 house payments. Shocked and relieved, they praise God for his amazing faithfulness. This family would have a perfect testimony to share of God's faithfulness and goodness.
Let's now say that another family that goes to the same church whothey don't know is going through similar financial struggles. By the first family sharing their testimony with the second one, it opens the door in the kingdom of heaven for the same miracle to happen again. In fact, by hearing or reading another's testimony with a heart of faith, it acts as a prophecy for the same miracle, breakthrough, or healing to occur in your life as well! In Revelation 19:10 it states, “And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (NKJV) .
It is also important that we as believers of Jesus Christ choose to be intentional in remembering what God has done in our lives. In fact, Moses warned the Israelites about not remembering God and what he has done as it says in Deuteronomy 6:12, “be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery” (NIV). Talking in an Old Testament context, we should be building a stone of memorials as something that our children will ask us about and we will be able to remember and share those testimonies with them (Exodus 12:1-30). In Hebrew, the meaning of the word “memorial” is to remember. Hope and faith on a daily basis is what spawns from remembering what God has done for you.
Although testimonies are absolutely amazing, we should also understand that testimonies demonstrate God's heart and ultimately always point to something of what God is like. They demonstrate the goodness, faithfulness, kindness, gentleness, and many other attributes of God. We should all be on a life long journey of knowing what God is truly like….he is always so much better than what we think!
In Revelation 12:11 it says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (NKJV) . It's by the blood of Jesus and our testimonies that we overcome and reign in life. As a church, I believe it's imperative to understand the great power that results from sharing and remembering our testimonies. We all have amazing testimonies of what God has done. He is a good God who deserves to be forever praised! Amen.
